A FRESH START COUNSELING
The Life You've Imagined Starts Now!
OUR MISSION
We are here to assist you in living the life you have imagined. Helping individuals, couples and families rise to new heights and learn to cope with life's challenges using effective therapeutic strategies and techniques is our goal. Difficulty and struggle can discourage growth but with assistance one can make a fresh start and experience lasting change.
connect: Everyone needs to know that when they speak they have been heard. “I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”
― Brené Brown
enrich: I hope to be that listening ear and person providing gentle nudges in the right direction toward lasting positive change. “Have more humility. Remember you don't know the limits of your own abilities. Successful or not, if you keep pushing beyond yourself, you will enrich your own life – and maybe even please a few strangers.”
― A.L. Kennedy
transform: The life you’ve imagined can start now. “Just when the caterpillar thought “I am incapable of moving,” it became a butterfly.”
― Annette Thomas
TRUST THE PROCESS
The Darkest Hour is Just Before Day
THIS MAY HURT AT TIMES
Counseling often requires you tо discuss upsetting emotions and painful memories. Bringing up these thoughts can feel difficult to start with and, initially, you may feel worse. This process is necessary to move forward and in time, you should start to feel more of what you desire to feel.
CONSISTENCY IS KEY
To get the most from your counseling sessions you could aim to make them consistent. Some sessions will feel more helpful than others, but it is important to realize that everything your counselor is doing is designed to help you in the long run, even if it doesn’t feel like it in thе beginning.
WE'RE IN THIS TOGETHER
It is also worth remembering that counseling is not a quick fix and that your counselor will not be able to tell you what to do. The counseling process requires a strong relationship between you and your counselor and a degree of effort on your part - together these two.
